KFC and Susan G. Komen have teamed up until May 30th to raise funds for breast cancer in a national campaign called “Buckets for the Cure”. Don’t fall for this.
I have watched the Komen organization over the years with their remarkable marketing but I am really getting tired of all the companies jumping on the “pink” bandwagon selling you unhealthy items and pretending to care about cancer. And this campaign with KFC really takes the cake. Where are the ethics?
Here are the ingredients of the KFC® Grilled Chicken
Fresh Chicken Marinated With Salt, Sodium Phosphate, and Monosodium Glutamate. Seasoned With: Maltodextrin, Salt, Bleached Wheat Flour, Partially Hydrogenated Soybean and Cottonseed Oil, Monosodium Glutamate, Secret Kentucky Grilled Chicken Spices, Palm Oil, Natural Flavor, Garlic Powder, Soy Sauce (Soybean, Wheat, Salt), Chicken Fat, Chicken Broth, Autolyzed Yeast, Beef Powder, Rendered Beef Fat, Extractives of Turmeric, Dehydrated Carrot, Onion Powder, and Not More Than 2% Each of Calcium Silicate and Silicon Dioxide Added As Anticaking Agents.
I would hate to know what is in the “Secret Kentucky Grilled Chicken Spices”!
I put in bold type the items you should recognize as very unhealthy such as MSG. Read my article on The Top 7 Food Ingredients to Avoid for further information.
Go ahead and see the ingredients for yourself of all KFC products on their web site:

In my mind, that food is cancer causing so don’t eat it.

I encourage you to support Breast Cancer Action. They would never accept that “tainted” money or have a “pink washing” partnership. In 2008, their innovative “Think Before You Pink” campaign took on the dairy industry.
As I have stated, this Komen campaign to sell KFC cancer causing foods to raise money is ludicrous.
