Use Baking Soda for Better Health

by Howard Jamison on September 17, 2009

In today’s world, most people have a diet in the range of 75% acid and 25% alkaline. This is also referred to as a pH imbalance. When there is a pH imbalance, the body has to correct itself by robbing the bones of alkaline calcium. What would be ideal is to turn it around and have a diet that is 75% alkaline and 25% acidic according to the experts.

Now for the simple approach to becoming more alkaline and less acidic, which is probably in most American kitchen cupboards. Take half a teaspoon of sodium bicarbonate (common baking soda!) in a glass of water daily. (Note: make sure the baking soda does not have aluminum in it)

Especially with women after midlife, the pancreas produces less of the bicarbonate that keeps your body alkaline. Osteoporosis becomes one of the problems caused by this acidity. Other problems that develop and are aggravated with this acidity is fatigue, join pain, muscle aches, brain fog and allergies. You will feel tired and achy.

Changing our diets is the key to long-lasting health. It is recommended that you reduce the consumption of animal products. Red meats, in particular, tend to trigger a release of high quantities of gastric acid so that the body can digest them and this raises the overall body acidity. So along with consuming less meat, add more fresh fruits, vegetables, whole grains, and beans. In addition, reduce starches (i.e., pasta, bread) and sweets (less desserts) and either reduce or eliminate alcohol.

Taking baking soda will help you fight chronic illnesses caused by a pH imbalance. Baking soda is safe, inexpensive, and is a wonderful addition to your daily supplements.

Sodium Bicarbonate is inorganic, very alkaline and like other mineral type substances supports an extensive list of biological functions. It happens to be one of our most useful medicines because bicarbonate physiology is fundamental to life and health.

We do not have to fear bicarbonate intake. And in fact, people who live in areas of the world with high amounts of bicarbonate in their drinking waters have a striking decreased mortality rate and a decreased prevalence of disease. Sodium bicarbonate, though often used as a medicine, is unlike pharmaceutical compounds. It is a natural non-toxic substance that does not require clinical trials for an assessment of toxicity. Spring waters contain bicarbonate ions which are coupled mainly with sodium, potassium, calcium or magnesium ions.

A deficiency of bicarbonate ions in the body contributes to a range of chronic diseases and medical conditions.

Sodium bicarbonate helps to save countless lives every day including cancer victims. Get your eBook copy today: Sodium Bicarbonate – Full Medical Review

I am reading about sodium bicarbonate, I have read on other sites that there is too much sodium in it, as it will be over the amount you should take in each day. Please let me know, as this seems like I would benefit from baking soda, as I have the symptoms from acidity.
Thank you and looking forward to hearing from you. Sandra

You should pay attention to the sodium in packaged food so read the labels. I encourage you to eat a diet of 75% alkaline foods. You should also test your urine several times a day using a “litmus” type of paper. The first test in the morning before eating is important. Then what you are eating throughout the day will be a factor in how acidic or alkaline you are. A small amount of baking soda can be used to help you be more alkaline but try to do it with alkaline foods.
